Junior Quad Biking FAQs
This will be my children's first time (and mine!) on a Quad Bike and I am a bit nervous.
Our experienced professional instructors will explain how the quad's controls work and show you and your group how to to riding safely. After some gentle practice time we'll take you off to try riding on some more challenging routes. There is no pressure to try any terrain that you are uncomfortable with and speeds will be kept low if you prefer. We want you to enjoy it!
What is the minimum age required to ride Quads at Arena?
10 years old for the normal sized Yamaha Breeze quads - min height 4 ft 6 inches. However we do have a smaller 90cc quads for an 8 year old who is at least 4 ft 2 inches. Therefore Arena quad biking is an ideal activity for family groups where different generations can take part in something different and have fun.
Can I book as an individual?
We run quad biking based on a minimum of 2 people. Why not get a friend or a group together for your own private session.
How long are the sessions?
For smaller groups of up to 6 people the time required will be approx. 1 ½ hours. This includes the initial briefing, practice and 2 lots of trekking with a quick break in the middle.
For larger groups, the time needed is 2 to 2 ½ hours. We take up to 6 out at a time and keep changing the groups over so everyone will get out at least 3 times in the time available.
What sort of country do we ride over?
The initial practice session take place in the parkland area and open fields. This enables riders to master the quads. We will also have an emergency braking practice. Then it out on some of the 10 miles of private tracks on site with the opportunity to try the 4x4 courses. The more competent and confident the riders are, the more challenging terrain we tackle.
Am I too heavy to ride a Quad?
16 stone is the ideally the maximum weight. This is probably why we have not had the England Rugby team here as yet. We do have a larger quad if required – let us know beforehand.
What clothing should I bring?
Depending on the time of year you should bring warm, waterproof out door clothing. In the summer we strongly suggest you have long trousers and a sleeved top. Riders have been known to get it slightly wrong which has resulted in an unscheduled trip into the undergrowth which can be a bit on the scratchy side. Riders should wear sturdy outdoor footwear, and gloves are recommended, particularly in the winter.
It is pouring with rain and I do not want to get my best Armani overcoat covered in mud.
We have bright yellow (fairly) waterproof tops and leggings available. Not very stylish but good for spotting you in the undergrowth.
I do not have a helmet.
We provide helmets of various sizes which fit the majority of people.
Can I use my own helmet?
If you have your own helmet you may use that providing it is in good condition.
Are there refreshments available on site?
Yes. We provide tea/coffee/squash at no extra charge.
Do I need a Driving Licence?
No licence is required although we do like you to know your left from your right!
Where are you based?
We are on 250 acres of privately owned land overlooking Bewl Water. 10 miles from Tunbridge Wells, 21 miles south of the M25 junction 5. See our Location Map with directions.
Can I mix Quads with any other events for a Stag Do, Hen Party or weekend?
Yes. There is Paintballing, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Team Tasks amongst other things. See the Stag, Hen and Adults page for more information.

Why should I book with www.arenapursuits.com instead of trawling the net for last minute cheap deals?
We are not an agency but actually run the events ourselves on our own purpose built site with our own equipment. Therefore you get the personal service that we have developed over the past 25 years.
