Mountain Bike Orienteering
Orienteering with a Difference
Half Day : Approximately 3 hours
A great team activity for all ages and levels of fitness
A brilliant way of seeing the some stunning countryside in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (A.O.N.B.) and for working up a thirst.
Based initially on the 250 acre site teams will be issued with a series of locations that have to be visited to find the answers to questions. Some may relate to the company, its objectives, products and services, others may be about the local area and features.
Teams have a short planning time before setting off around some of the 8 miles of tracks on site taking in parkland settings, woodland roadways, field headlands and the 4 x 4 courses. Other clues will be situated around the 12.5 miles of roads and tracks on the neighbouring Bewl Water. Points mean prizes but there will be penalties for missing clues and for going over time.
From April through to the end of October we can use the 12 ½ mile tracks and lanes around Bewl Water.
In the winter months we can use the 3000 acre Bedgebury Forest with its 4 ½ miles of hard road plus the much more challenging off road sections.
Being situated in the Heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty there is a myriad of interesting back lanes, local history and stunning scenery.
Mountain Biking at Arena is ideal for all ages and levels of fitness. You can go at it hard or take your time and enjoy the varied scenery. There are plenty of pubs close to the routes so a stop off may be the order of the day.
Arena provides the Mountain Bikes and safety helmets – all you have to do is wear some outdoor kit appropriate for bikes and have a sense of adventure.
Clients are welcome to bring their own bikes and helmets if they wish.
Participants should bring waterproofs and a complete change of warm clothing and footwear.
